Our Story
It was early spring in 1987 when Alan first started to do chimney cleanings for his own home. Jana began to recieve phone calls from friends for Alan to come and clean their stove or fireplace. He and Jana created Alan's Chimney Sweep from the popularity by word of mouth. Soon Jana was able to stay at home with their two children and to handle the business fulltime.
When the business became more known Alan began to work with two heating companies in Carson City, installing stoves, inserts, and fireplaces for them. Alan and Jana opened A.J's Stoves in 1997. Alan and Jana's only help at that time was their kids, Krystle(10), and Brian(8). Business stayed steady for years and Alan started looking for some good help.
Currently, Alan hangs out at the office (trying to retire). Jana is mainly working from the home office doing the books. Meanwhile, Krystle works in the shop and Brian works out in the field.

Our crew
We love our crew! They become family quickly and the best thing is that most of us hang out with each other outside of work too! We are all characters in our own way and love to laugh, teach, and learn.
alan
Alan (Dad) has been the core of this entire operation. He now stays at home or at the shop to help with anything more technical. He's trying to retire but it's hard to let all that knowledge just go unused!
Brian
Brian (the son) knew he was going to be cleaning chimneys and installing units since before kindergarten. Now he's our installer and can handle anything we throw at him for service calls and cleanings.
Krystle
Krystle (the Daughter) runs the office and keeps the crew in order. If you need parts, or a new unit, quotes on anything, or questions about anything then she's your go to girl.
Keith
Keith is a local, born and raised here, and knows the valley very well. He is a lead chimney technician and has a knack for gas/LP fit-its. Our go to guy for almost anything we can throw at him. He's been part of our family since 2016.
Jon
Jon has been with us since 2020, through thick and thin. He is one of our chimney technicians and installer. He has always been a local to our valley.
Daniel
Daniel is the youngest of our crew! Born and raised here locally, and has proven to be more mature than any other his age. He's been with up since early 2021 and has learned so much. He's another chimney technician that normally teams up with Jon.
Jaccob
Jaccob is our newest. He was born and raised here locally. Very quick learner and has been blossoming working with Keith. Also learning the ins and outs of installs with Brian.
Tiffany
Tiffany is a huge help in the office. She handles all the scheduling needs for chimney cleanings and repairs. She also helps take care of any walk-in customers on the showroom floor. She's been with us since 2019. We wouldn't run as efficiently without her!

Jeffrey
Jaccob is another of our newest. He's helping out with our warehouse and parts side. Keeping things organized and helping our trucks run smoothly increases our efficiency as well. It's a bit chaotic without him around!
Jana
Jana (mom) mainly stays at her home office and only comes in when needed or to deliver paychecks. If you have any billing questions please give her a call or shoot over an email and she'll get right back to you.
